Guest scores and detailed hotel feedback
The room's noisy dryer made it hard to sleep.
Despite being in a convenient location close to the airport, my stay at the hotel was mixed. The rooms, although noisy due to the location, were not as clean as expected even though I booked an executive room. The lounge food was disappointing, making it a poor value for money choice. On the bright side, the hotel is relatively quiet from traffic noise and the location is great for early flights. However, the strange arrangement of furniture was a bit off-putting.
The hotel had very clean rooms, especially the bathroom, but the noise level was too high, sounding like a plane taking off. The price was also on the expensive side. The service was a mix of extreme graciousness and rude behavior. The location was convenient for business in the Jamaica area but lacked resources in the neighborhood. The dining experience was sub-par, not meeting expectations for a full-service hotel.
The hotel rooms were completely clean and quiet, but lacked modern amenities like a wake-up call option, were on the pricey side for the facilities provided, and did not have a plug for the bath. The bar closed early, and the shuttle operated randomly, making transportation challenging. However, noise levels were very high making it difficult to sleep.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The room I was given had a somewhat decent view of the airport and was generally comfortable, but it was a letdown to find a dirty toilet and coffee pot. The staff were genuinely helpful and welcoming, although they insisted on at least an 18% gratuity despite the service not always being top-notch. The location, while close to JFK for convenient flights, was rather run-down and slightly scary. The dining experience was stressful and disappointing, with limited options, although there was a redeeming aspect on the executive floor. Facilities were lacking in some areas, with old air conditioning causing noise disturbances.
I found the hotel to be quite pricey for the room provided, which only had a shower and wasn't very clean. However, the service inside the hotel was professional, with the staff conducting business in a professional manner. The location is convenient for early flights but forces you to eat on-site, with an additional charge for valet parking. The dining experience, though lacking West Indian variety, was decent, especially with wood-fired pizza available. The in-room heating system was extremely loud and the hotel seemed far from the main city area.
Although the hotel had some issues like rooms not closing properly and the pool being closed till March, my stay was quite comfortable overall. The staff made an effort to go the extra mile, which I appreciated. However, there were some cleanliness issues with trash in the pool, an odor, and the need for clean towels.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were reasonably clean and equipped with showers, a spacious bathroom, and a large flat-screen TV with various channels catering to my interests. The service was a bit stubborn initially but turned friendlier and more helpful during my stay. The location was convenient for a staycation with my kids but had some noise issues from other guests. The dining options were limited and overpriced. Overall, it was a decent stay with some room for improvement.
